Edmonton library to bake eclairs

Puff pastry, also known as choux pastry, is the base for an assortment of desserts, and an upcoming Edmonton class will teach attendees how to craft eclairs using this style of baking.

Chef Mara Yamaoto will be helping to make preparing puff pastry a lot easier for those who register for The Kitchen: Strawberry Éclairs class next month. It will be held at The Kitchen at Stanley A. Milner Library, which can be found in the city's downtown core.

Those who participate will be rolling up their sleeves and preparing strawberry mascarpone eclairs, and the methods taught can be used to make other types of pastries as well. Everyone will be able to make enough to take some home, so they should bring along a carry-out container. Admission is $25.00, and while kids from ages 12 to 18 are welcome, they will need to bring an adult with them.

Baking can be a hobby that is both fun and tasty. Attending a class like this may give someone the essential skills they need to get started, and take-home recipe cards for such classes can be prepared by local Print shops.

The Kitchen: Strawberry Éclairs class will be on offer on December 16th. At the time of writing, tickets are still available via Eventbrite, and anyone with questions can email the organizers.
