Edmonton jazz lovers enjoy recent shows

The TD Edmonton Jazz Festival recently took place and, according to the event’s organizers, it was a big success.

The festival’s director, Kent Sangster, noted that even though ticket prices had not been raised from the last time it was held, the event had met the financial targets that had been set for it. He also believed that it had offered something that appealed to everyone, and that many younger people had come out to enjoy the shows.

The performances were held at a variety of venues, including the Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre and the Yardbird Suites, and reports indicated that they were well attended.

According to Mr. Sangster, the event was promoted through several means, including social media, which helped to make people aware that it was going on and generated a lot of interest. Poster printing firms could have also made a difference by producing eye-catching promotional materials to encourage people to attend.

The director also noted that he was happy to have worked with the TD Canada Trust, which is the festival’s new title sponsor. Mr. Sangster also felt that the benefits of this arrangement will show even more next year. He noted that there was an increase in the sales of tickets, passes, and the different Forms of merchandising that were being used for this year’s festival.
