People from all across Edmonton came together recently to show support for those less fortunate, and also to help provide a more tangible form of support.
Dan Johnstone, also known as ‘Can Man Dan’, was on hand to help host the second annual ‘We’re Here For Ya’ event, which was held at Pose Hair Studio.
The festivities were a big draw, and donations of food and other items from private citizens and the business community filled hundreds of Bags. There were also free haircuts provided by Pose stylists, and a barbeque as well.
Donations of money and food were collected for the Edmonton Food Bank.
The turnout was even better than last year, thanks in part to its central location and the fact that a nearby LRT station made it easy to get to.
Johnstone, who is well known for his charitable efforts, knows what it’s like to go without; he grew up in a single parent home without a lot of money, and he wants to help those who find themselves in the same position.
He’s hoping that 2015’s installment will follow the trend and be even better than this year, and that the items collected will expand to include school supplies.
An event like this not only helps the less fortunate; it also helps to build a sense of community. Printing companies can help to promote the day by creating specially printed T-Shirts for all those who take part.Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts Get a Free Quote for Bags
