Little Warriors recently announced that it has taken over the Be Brave ranch in the town of Strathcoma, near Edmonton. It will use the site as a residential treatment center for kids.
The organization was set up to help teach adults how to recognize and help children who have been abused, and also to help prevent it from happening in the first place.
The ranch covers an area of 64,000 square feet, comprising six houses and also a main area. Each house covers more than 6,000 square feet of land and can house up to 16 children at a time. The main buildings house a kitchen, office space, gym, classrooms, and therapy spaces.
The project was funded in part by the hundreds of thousands of dollars which were donated by members of the public and local businesses. The group also received many gifts in kind, which enabled them to fit the classrooms and gym with enough equipment to ensure they’re ready for the kids.
A Print company can provide the new staff at a project such as this with digital Business Cards and all of the other printed materials they need.
The program will be run on an outcome-based basis, and donations are needed to help fund the two-year study which will help determine its efficiency. There are also plans to renovate the rink, build more recreational facilities and also a garden. The organization is asking for volunteers to help with the final decoration of the buildings.
