The Children's Mental Health Conference is taking place this month in Edmonton for three days. It is a presentation of the Institute of Child Psychology.
The conference is aimed at those in professional fields that deal with children in a mental health situation. It includes social workers and medical professionals.
There will be three days of breakout workshops and a keynote speaker. Some of the workshops last half a day, while others last a full day. Attendees can choose between several topics based on their interests, including childhood anxiety, creating resilient parents, helping children with stress relief, dealing with anger and ADHD. Each person taking a workshop will receive a certificate of completion.
Some of those leading the workshops are Erin Neman, Cierra Chmiliar, Jenni Daines and Dr. Veronika Botova. The keynote speech will be delivered by Dr. Deborah MacNamara.
All participants will receive printed handouts of the workshop material, and light refreshments will be served throughout the day.
No doubt this will be a good networking opportunity for professionals. It is likely that many of those planning to attend this Edmonton event will be bringing their Business Cards.
The Children's Mental Health Conference will be held at the Edmonton Inn and Conference Centre from April 26 to 28. A conference pass is $190 until April 19. Call 1-800-301-1152 for more information.
