While COVID-19 may have hit Camrose’s business community hard, there are now programs in place that can help them to get back on their feet.
Due to the pandemic, many local businesses have found it difficult to keep their doors open, but the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant will give them the funds they need to hit the ground running when they reopen. There will be two payments made, and applicants may receive up to $20,000 for each application that receives approval.
This program can be utilized by cooperatives, businesses and not for profit groups. The funds may be used to install barriers, purchase disinfecting supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees, replace lost inventory, pay employees’ wages and to aid in covering the costs of rental fees.
This initiative has been developed by the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Innovation. A poster printing company can be counted on to help get the world out about this sort of assistance, and placing these marketing materials throughout the community will aid in spreading the word to those who may be eligible to apply for such help.
Applications for the funding program will be accepted up until March 31st. Further details, including information about who can qualify for this assistance, can be found on the Alberta government’s website.
