Camrose set to walk for those with schizophrenia

An invitation has been issued to people all across Camrose to come to an event that will both raise money and show support for those living with schizophrenia.

The Open Minds Walk, which is an annual event hosted by the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, will include routes for people of all age and abilities. There will be both 10 kilometer and 5 kilometer options, as well as a 2.5 kilometer fun walk, and people are welcome to run, walk or roll the one that is best suited to them. The day will open with a complimentary breakfast for all the fundraisers, and there will also be a Kids Zone set up for the younger set. There will also be music and live entertainment and much more planned to make the day a fun one for all.

The monies raised through this day of activities will be used to help support the different programs and services offered by the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta. Pop up Banners can be designed for events like this that can be used over and over, which can help to stretch the event’s budget even further.

The Open Minds Walk and Run will be held on September 23rd at the Bill Fowler Centre in Camrose. Anyone who would like to find out more or register to participate can do so through the society’s website.
