Gardening offers a lot of benefits, but as not everyone has space to install a vegetable patch, Camrose Regional Exhibition (CRE) is holding a contest with a very special prize.
The winners of the CRE Garden Plot Contest will receive the use of a bed to grow a variety of vegetables, and there will be four plots up for grabs. The planners have explained that they strongly believe in the value of sustainable urban agriculture, and this project will showcase how easy it can be.
The winners will be given plenty of instructions and other support to help them get growing, and throughout the season, CRE will document their horticultural journey. Each bed will be 10 feet by 20 feet, and the winners will need to supply their own tools, seeds and other supplies, as well as the hard work needed to grow their own produce.
To enter the draw, contestants will need to fill out an application form that includes details about why they should be chosen. Everyone in the local area is welcome to take part, and the winner will be announced at the start of the spring planting season. A poster printing company can prepare a variety of materials to help promote an event like this to those who may be interested in the community.
The final date to submit an application for the CRE Garden Plot contest is March 23rd. Entry Forms can be found on the CRE’s website.
