A new research station has opened at Miquelon Lake near Camrose.
A grand opening celebration was held to mark the event, and the guest list included representatives from Alberta Parks, the University of Alberta, Beaver County, Camrose County, the Beaver Hills Initiative and also the individuals who had made a donation to help support its construction.
There were presentations by guest speakers, and the building was shown to those in attendance. It includes both wet and dry laboratories, as well as storage, a kitchen, office space and accommodation for up to eight people. A Print company can produce the signage used at such a facility, as well as specially designed sheets for recording data and information, while also printing informational materials that can be distributed throughout the area.
According to Glen Hvenegaard, who is a professor of environmental studies and was chosen to be the emcee of the event, the goal of the station is to engage in research into local ecosystems, the surrounding environment and sustainable practices. It is also hoped that it will promote partnerships between the different stakeholders and the rural communities that surround it.
The hope is that the data and other research results that are collected at the station will be shared between a variety of organizations, who will be able to use it in their work. Get a Free Quote for Print
