Agriculture plays an important role in Camrose’s economy, and the public will soon have an opportunity to discover what goes on behind the gates of some of its local farms.
Alberta Open Farm Days take place each August, and they give residents of the province a time to learn more about its farms, how they operate and the role they play. Ranches, wineries and agri-tourism establishments will also be participating, and the visitors will even be able to purchase fresh produce and other goods on site.
Each of the participating locations will have its own offerings for those who stop by, and these may include demonstrations and a chance to meet the owners. To help prevent the spread of COVID, the visitors will be asked to follow prevention measures, and each farm may also have its own policies in place. One of the locations that will be taking part in Camrose is Lazuli Farms, which will provide insight into how animals are raised.
Organizing an annual agricultural event like this is one way to help give the public a deeper understanding and appreciation of the role farmers and other agricultural operations play in the life of their province. Maps, pamphlets and other materials for the occasion can be ordered from local brochure printing companies.
The 2021 instalment of Alberta Open Farm Days will take place on August 14th and 15th. Its website includes details about each of the participating locations.
