Woman advances through ranks of commercial photography

A local printing company in Calgary is where Susan Otterson has worked her way up through the ranks since she first arrived at ABL Imaging Group in 1989. Today, Otterson holds the position as the company president, a post she has held since the year 2006. However, when she first began working at ABL Imaging Group, she started out at the bottom as a humble customer service representative. Gradually, she began to work her way up, getting to the position of general manager responsible for sales and partner in 1994.

For some years, the company used it spacious darkroom to accomplish that on behalf of clients. When the print market began to go the way of new technology like digital cameras, ABL had to adapt and itself go along with the new print technology. This meant an end to their darkroom, and Otterson was instrumental in helping guide ABL to this new realization.

To stay atop the new technology sector, ABL under Otterson has invested in digital equipment, which provides its customers with artworks both for their exterior as well as their interior decoration needs. To this end, ABL has invested in an Oce Lightjet which makes real photographic prints by utilizing a laser from digital files.

Otterson is a living example of the merits of hard work and the reality that you can achieve much of what you want if you only strive for it. The local printing company in Calgary, whose ranks she worked her way up, is a case in point.
