Valuable movie prop replica auctioned to help sick baby

The annual Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo attracts thousands of visitors and volunteers from all over, and this year organizers decided to reach out a helping hand to one little boy and his family.

One-year-old Sawyer was born prematurely with many health problems, and when the event organizers found out, they wanted to help. They decided to auction off an item they felt could bring in a lot of money, with the proceeds going to the boy’s family to help them meet medical expenses not covered by the province.

The item up for bids is a replica of the egg used in the Aliens movie, which was signed many of the cast members, including actress Sigourney Weaver. The item is currently for auction on eBay, where it the top bid is more than $2,000.

The boy’s father, Heath Kai, expressed his thanks to the organizers for helping his family, and said the funds raised will go a long way towards the purchase of medical equipment and possibly even a wheelchair for Sawyer.

It’s the 10th anniversary for the expo, which will be held from April 16th to the 19th, and it’s hoped that it over 100,000 people will attend.

A Stationery printing company can really help with a fundraising effort such as this. Professionals can Print information sheets about an item being auctioned off that provide all the details and let people know where and how they can bid.
