The Papergirl Calgary campaign is a series of events that will be taking place until August 18. Papergirl began in Berlin and takes place annually in several cities throughout the world, with Calgary, Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, and Kelowna all holding Papergirl events. Its mission is to make art available to everyone and celebrate "the art of giving away art." Paper works are created at various events, displayed, and then distributed to the public of Calgary via papergirls and paperboys on bicycles.
There will be an exhibition of the works created for Papergirl at Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts from August 8 - 17. It will feature work that has been submitted by local and international contributors. The organizers may have worked with Calgary printing companies to create the various Flyers that are being used to advertise this fun artistic event. Flyers are not expensive, especially if printed in bulk, and can be distributed in a variety of ways. They can be hand delivered, mailed, posted around the city, or left at local libraries and community centers.
Those who want to take part in creating art can attend a Papergirl Calgary Printing Workshop. One workshop will take place at the Epcor Centre on August 14 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Attendees will be creating items to dress up both the deliverers and their bicycles by making buttons and bike pennants, printing T-Shirts, and printing on baskets or Bags. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of silk screening and to create "inspired art propaganda."Get a Free Quote for Bags Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts Get a Free Quote for Flyers
