Calgary workshop to help residents with gardening

Indoor gardening can be a lot easier than many may think, and a Calgary online workshop will aid newbie green thumbs in getting off to a great start.

The Calgary Horticultural Society will be welcoming those who are new to growing their own indoor jungle to the Houseplants 101 workshop. It will open with the basics, including a list of plants that are well-suited to the beginner, and from there, the workshop will move on to the care, feeding and requirements of the new plants.

Along with learning about how to feed and water their plants, pruning and fertilizing are also on the schedule. Tips for pest control and reporting will also be shared with participants, and the guide for the class will be The Sunroom Plant Shop’s Anela Bigornia.

As this event will take place online, anyone who is interested will need to have access to a laptop, tablet or other digital device. When those who register for this sort of activity provide their address, organizers often send out packages containing information about the workshop, and area Print shops can help with producing such materials.

The Calgary Horticultural Society will be offering this web-based class on January 19th. The final date to sign up is January 12, and the organizers can be reached by phone or email.
