Calgary arborists often need to use hazardous equipment in the performance of their duties, and those who work in the trade and use an aerial lift can learn what to do should an emergency occur.
Vermeer Canada has made arrangements to offer its arborist seminar, focusing on the safe use of an aerial lift. As its usually easier to prevent an accident from happening in the first place, prevention will be one of the main objectives of the session, and self-rescue will also be included.
The learning will be a combination of theory and hands-on participation, and they will review the terminology used in tree work, with rope safety emphasized. The students will be able to get some real life experience by taking part in mock rescues, and the workshop will be held rain or shine. Lunch is included in the registration fee, and everyone is reminded to bring a folding chair.
