Calgary museum to offer sneak peek at historic aircraft

Calgary’s Hangar Flight Museum offers a glimpse into the country’s aviation history, and it will have a special program running throughout the summer months.

The museum is home to an assortment of vintage aircraft, including some manufactured by Canada’s own Avro. To give the public a taste of what it was like to fly in one of these planes, visitors will be able to sit behind the controls in the cockpit.

One of the main requests the curators of the event have received from the public is to be able to view its planes from the inside. This event series will now offer them a chance to do so, and staff and volunteers will be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. The aircraft will range from an Avro Lancaster to a Douglas DC-3. Everyone who would like to take part will need to wear closed-toed shoes, and any additional equipment needed will be supplied.

Museums give the public a chance to learn more about the past, and they often house extensive collections of vintage and antique items. A poster printing company will be able to provide a variety of ways of marketing an activity like this to the larger community.

The Open Aircraft Days will be offered on weekends from June 25th to September 5th. The Hangar Flight Museum is open each day from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
