Calgary hike to hunt for fall fungi

Fall is mushroom season, and a Calgary outing will help amateur mycologists and those who just appreciate the beauty of fungi to learn more about these important organisms.

A group of mushroom hunters will be heading to the Weaselhead Natural Area for an outing that will introduce the species that can be found at the location. There will be opportunities to take lots of photos, and it will be led by a guest hike leader.

The attendees will follow a route that is approximately 4km, and while it is geared towards adults, children may take part if they have a parent or guardian with them. It will be a time to learn about, and appreciate, the biodiversity at the location, and anyone who needs an accommodation to be able to get involved has been asked to contact the organizers in advance. Tickets for the function are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids. Fees and taxes may be applied.

Whether they are interested in forging to take photos, for food or just because they enjoy being outdoors, a nature hike may be enjoyed by many people. Basic field guides and other materials that may help to make a positive ID can be prepared by Stationery printing companies.

This walking visit to one of Calgary’s wild spaces will hit the trail at 9:00 am on September 14th. Everyone who registers is asked to be on site at Weaselhead by 9:00 am sharp.
