Calgary festival to showcase local needle crafters

During an upcoming event, Calgary quilters will get to celebrate with others who enjoy crafting with a thread and needle.

Originally planned to take place earlier in the year, the city’s annual Festival of Quilts will now be held this August, and the organizers have noted that this schedule change has given them the time to make the occasion even better.

The attendees will be treated to a chance to be inspired by the hundreds of quilts that will be on display. Along with the quilts, the guests at the function will be able to sit in on a workshop, pay a visit to the vendor tables on the Merchants Mall and meet others who quilt. Members of the public are welcome to submit a piece of their own for the quilting displays, and many of the activities will be taking place outdoors.

An event like this gives the local crafting community an opportunity to show off its skills to the general public. A brochure printing company will be able to prepare materials to hand out that provide information about the items on display, including how they were made, as well as the maker’s name and other details.

The 2021 Festival of Quilts has been rescheduled to welcome the public on August 21st and 22nd. It will take place at Heritage Park Historical Village.
