A charitable event was recently held in Calgary to help those in need during the holiday season.
The Magic of Christmas, which has been going for 31 years, saw over 400 volunteer Santas and elves deliver gifts to 450 Calgary families. It averaged out to two or three gifts per person who was signed up to receive one, as well as a food hamper for the families who needed the extra support. The Santas and elves delivered the parcels not in a sleigh pulled by reindeer, but rather, there were 36 Calgary buses available to drive them to their destinations.
On the weekend before Christmas, the volunteers got together to receive some final training, as well as their costumes. There was carol singing and prizes given out. This year had the added bonus of being the first to use the charity’s new warehouse, for storing supplies and donations when they are not being used.
According to the president of The Magic of Christmas, the event is special as it not only helps others, but it is also uplifting and fun for all those who choose to take part and lend a hand.
A printing company can help to make the event even more festive both for those who volunteer to take part, and those who receive a gift. For instance, a specially printed greeting can be included in each package.
