Local beehives will be the base for a meal hosted by Rouge Restaurant, and it promises to be both tasty and fun.
Alberta Food Tours works with its community partners to keep two beehives in the city of Calgary, and its six legged workers have been busy all summer making honey. The eatery’s chefs have prepared a menu for their Eat Alberta First dinner that will include ingredients sourced from across the province. One of the guests of honour will be Eliese Watson, who is the founder of Apiaries and Bees for Communities.
The meal will consist of four courses, and honey will be the inspiration for the fare. Guest chef Matthew Filson-Lau will be lending his talents to the occasion. A selection of drink pairings will be on offer, and the price for those is included in the tickets. The planners remarked that, as only 60 seats are available for the dinner and they are expected to fill up fast, anyone who would like to attend may wish to purchase theirs as soon as possible.
