Calgary class prepares vegetable potage
An activity that can point the way to success with soups has been scheduled by the Calgary Horticultural Society, and it will feature the culinary talents of the Blue Flame Kitchen Chefs.
Dubbed “Soup-er Success!”, the class will be part of the Gardeners’ Market 2025, and it will be showcasing bowls of potage aux legumes, which is a hearty vegetable soup. The chefs will be demonstrating how to prepare this soup for the attendees, and they will be discussing how the vegetables each play a role in developing the overall character of the dish.
Everyone will be treated to some samples to savour, and recipes for garden herb pistou, garlic croutons and the potage aux legumes will be provided for the audience members to take home with them so they can recreate them for their friends and family. Recipe cards and other custom-designed materials for an activity like this will be available at area stationery printers.
The Soup-er Success! Mastering the Art of Soups with Blue Flame Kitchen Chefs event will run from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 26th at The Commons at ATCO Park, 5302 Forand Street SW. Those interested must purchase admission to both the demonstration and to the Gardeners’ Market, and this can be done by visiting the Calgary Horticultural Society website. Discounts are available for society members.
