Calgarians invited to cuddle with puppies for a cause

A new service in Calgary now offers those who live and work in the city with an opportunity to take a break in their busy day to relax with man’s best friend.

Calgary’s Animal Rescue Foundation and Uber have joined forces to provide a service that, through the use of the Uber app, will bring puppies to those in the downtown core who could use a few minutes of cuddling with a canine to help them unwind. Funds that are raised through the efforts will be used to help the Fort McMurray branch of the SPCA to continue to care for the animals that were displaced by the recent fires that occurred in that city.

The dogs that are used will spend 15 minutes with the person who made the call, and all of them are available for adoption. The hope is that the people who make use of this special delivery will fall in love with one of the puppies and decide to offer it a full time, loving home. Flyers can be effectively use to promote fundraisers such as this.

According to Uber Alberta’s general manger Ramit Kar, this type of service has been used in the pat to help promote the adoption of shelter animals. To make use of it, all someone needs to do is select ”PUPPIES” using the Uber app.
