Workshop to bring touch of green to Calgary homes

Houseplants can bring life and beauty to a home, and they can also filter harmful chemicals from the air. There are many species to choose from, and a Calgary workshop will offer tips and tricks that can help those who take part channel their inner green thumb.

Plant’s Kyle Chow will be sharing her knowledge for the care and culture of houseplants, and it can be useful to everyone from newbies to experts. It will be focused on the care, feeding and selection of indoor greenery, and each of the learners will have an opportunity to go home with a potted plant they can display in their own home.

The class will begin with an introduction to plant physiology and how to care for them. This will be followed by a review of which plants do best in which conditions, and the group will discover how they can choose the right one for their particular setting. After this, the students will choose a plant and pot, and they will be led through the steps of the repotting process.

To help get each of the participants in the class off to a good start with their new “green buddy”, they will each receive a guide for caring for their houseplants. Print shops can provide Copies of bound materials such as these, and will have a variety of binding options to choose from.

Plant will be offering its “Green Your Thumb” workshop on July 27. Tickets are $60, and this includes a $30 credit that can be used to purchase a plant pot and other items.
