The United Way of Calgary has launched a new website that it hopes will help to connect local not-for-profit groups with people who are interested in lending a hand in their community.
The site is called ‘YYC Connects’ and its goal is to provide a space in which charitable groups can post requests for help from different corporate partners from around the area. The kind of help they need can range from anything from looking for people to assist with a special event and fundraising to helping to set up websites, planning marketing strategies, and aiding in promotional campaigns. This would be an area in which a professional printing company would no doubt be able to make a big contribution.
According to the United Way, it will bring together the corporate sector and the not-for-profit world in a way that might not otherwise be possible
Besides connecting volunteers with a selection of nongovernmental agencies, the site will also provide information about some of the social issues that are currently facing the city. This can help to raise awareness and show users how much of an impact their efforts can make.
Anyone who would like more information on how to become involved themselves is invited to visit YYC Connects to find out more about how they can make a difference.
