Fireworks photography class to be offered in Calgary

An event has been planned for Calgary that is intended to appeal to both those who love fireworks and those who have a passion for photography.

Neil Zeller Photography will be providing tips and tricks to get the best possible shots of displays of fireworks during Calgary’s Globalfest. The group will gather at Elliston Park, where Zeller will give instructions on how to choose the right camera settings for the conditions. Once that is complete, the participants will be able to disperse and enjoy the rest of the festival’s attractions until the sun goes down.

In order to get the most from the class, it is recommended that those who wish to take part should bring along a mirrorless or DSR camera that allows shooting in BULB mode, as well as a intervalometer that is equipped with a button for manual shutter release or a cable release. A tripod, a wide angle lens and a folding chair are also suggested.

Tickets for the class cost $55 each. It will take place on August 25, starting at 7:30 pm. Should the weather be inclement, it will be held the next evening, when the fireworks take place. A booklet printing provider can produce materials that give further instructions for those who take part in workshops such as this.
