Conference to highlight latest in cardiac education

‘A Work of Heart’, the annual spring conference of the Alberta, Nunavut & NWT Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN) Division, is taking place next month in Calgary.

The conference is set to present the latest research and information to cardiac nurses to help them update and improve the care they provide to patients.

The day will start off with a breakfast where attendees will have the opportunity to network with their fellow nurses and other medical personnel. It will be followed by keynote addresses, breakout sessions and a welcome message from the CCCN. Those who will be presenting keynote addresses include Dr. Sandeep Aggarwal, Dr. Jason Waechter, and Andreas Holwegner.

Topics of the breakout sessions are set to include spontaneous coronary artery dissection, anxiety and depression in CVD, a COPD update and prosthetic valves in cardiac surgery. There will also be a lunch buffet and door prizes.

No doubt this will be a very important conference for cardiovascular nurses and it may also result in them making connections with their peers. With this in mind, new business card printing may be in order.

A Work of Heart will be held at the Best Western Premium Calgary Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre on May 11 from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM. Fees are $85 for CCCN members, $150 for non-members (which includes a membership), and $65 for students. Visit the Eventbrite page for more information.
