Calgary workshop to help people show some love to their liver

Those who would like to take charge of their health are invited to attend a special event taking place in the Central Calgary Public Library’s Performance Hall this September.

The lecture, which is being offered as part of the Understanding Your Health series created by the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, will be focused on liver health. This organ plays an important role in a person's overall health, and attendees will discover how they can keep theirs in top shape.

The discussion will include details about the human liver and the role in plays in the body. Guests will discover how it removes toxins from the bloodstream, regulates hormone levels, and how it is a factor in blood clotting and other functions. Along with this, attendees will find out how different activities can impact liver health as well as why making good food choices can be so important.
