Calgary to craft succulent dish gardens
Preparing a dish garden can be a fun way to bring a piece of nature indoors, and this February, a Calgary class will teach how to prepare one of these plantings using a variety of succulents.
Succulents are hardy plants that tend to be easy to care for, and as they often have similar cultural requirements, they usually do well when planted together in a bowl-style planting. As the name suggests, the Valentines Succulent Bowl Workshop will have a Valentine’s theme, and everyone can take their creation home with them at the end of the class.
The attendees will receive the required materials to work with. These will include a glass bowl for their garden, an assortment of plants and soil, as well as decorative elements such as preserved moss, rocks, signs and figurines will also be available. Planting instructions and care tips will be shared with the group, and tickets start at $65.00.
‘Plant and sip’ events and similar activities have become increasingly popular in recent years. Plant care tips sheets and other materials that may help the attendees at such workshops to keep their creations healthy and looking great can be prepared by print shops.
