Whether they walk, hop, slither, swim or fly, Calgary loves its pets, and a special day has been set aside to salute the city’s companion animals.
The Highland Park Community Association and the City of Calgary have come together with support from Neighbourhood Grants to hold Pet Day for this August, and it will be held at 3716 2nd Street. Well-behaved pets are welcome to attend the function with their human companions, and admission for both pets and humans is free.
The afternoon will provide the public with an opportunity to sit in on an informational presentation by a Calgary veterinarian, and they can ask any pet-related questions they might have. Local rescue and rehoming groups will be on site with displays set up, and the vendor area will also boast a selection of small businesses in a pop-up market. An animal by-law officer will also be on site to discuss their work.
Community-level events like this can attract a lot of attention if promoted well, and a banner printing company will be happy to help. It can provide a full line of promotional and decorative materials to its clients, including ones for single and multiple use.
Pet Day is scheduled for Sunday, August 13th. Its schedule runs from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, and further details can be found on the Highland Park Community Association website.
