An event has been planned for Calgary that will give those who take part a chance to help others while enjoying an evening of food, friendship, and fun.
The Harvest Fundraiser, which has been organized by the Leftovers Foundation, will include live entertainment, food and beverages, a raffle and a silent auction. Leaders from the organization will also be on hand, and will address those who have come out to take part in the evening’s festivities, thanking them for their help.
Leftovers is an organization that collects and distributes useable foods from grocery stores, restaurants, kitchens and bakeries that would otherwise be disposed of. It is given to social service agencies and other groups, who then make sure it reaches those in need.
Monies raised through the fundraiser will be used to purchase a truck, which will be used to pick up and deliver the food. It will also be branded, which will help to spread awareness of the not-for-profit and what it does. A company that provides marketing services can create an assortment of branded materials that can further help to raise public awareness of a community service organization such as this, which can lead to it being able to help even more people.
Tickets for the festivities, which will take place at Calgary’s Festival Hall on October 12, are $40 each. Further details can be found on the Leftovers website.
