Calgary girls to gain self-advocacy skills

As classes prepare to get under way for another academic year, Calgary girls will be offered the chance to participate in an activity that may help to add some self-care items to their personal toolbox.

An upcoming workshop series has been designed to help give girls confidence and knowledge when it comes to dealing with the stressors they encounter in their everyday life. Its listing explained that returning to classes may be a challenging time for youth, and those who participate will be able to draw on their new skills.

The session, which will be facilitated by registered psychologist Tasha Belix, M.A , will provide strategies for dealing with everyday stress, and the attendees will also develop their self-advocacy skills. Emotional regulation will be discussed, and body image and the pitfalls of perfectionism will also be reviewed. This chance for girls in grades 7 to 9 to hit the ground running this upcoming school year will run from August 26th to August 28th. Each will begin at 1:00 pm at 124 42 Avenue Southwest, and they run for three hours.
