Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo announces Archie-special

Fans of the Archie series of comic Books will have something extra to look forward to at this year’s Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Archie franchise, and

the expo will welcome five of the artists who have worked on it through the years. The group, including Fiona Staples, who hails from Calgary herself, will be taking part in a special event entitled “Riverdale Lane”.

Along with this, there will be presentations by voice actors from several different animated series such as Transformers, Cowboy Bebop, Futurama and more, as well as those who have lent their vocal talents to video games.

An 18 and over after hours’ party is also on the slate. Music for the event will come from performers Rock Sugar and Kirbie Krackle. Tickets for this portion of the expo will be offered for sale separately from those for the Expo at a price of $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Special passes, which have been protected using lamination, can be paired with a custom printed lanyard and given to ticket holders at these sorts of events so they can easily be identified once they have entered the party.

The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo is scheduled to happen at Stampede Park from April 28th until May 1st. Tickets are now available, and they, along with more information can be found at the Calgary Expo website.
