Macrame is a crafting technique that creates items that can be as functional as they are pretty, and a Calgary class will introduce this pastime to a new group of “knotters”.
Macrame uses knotting and other techniques to turn fibre cords into a variety of objects, and the workshop planned for Hidden Park Northwest in Calgary will teach how to prepare a plant pot hanger. Tickets for the class start at $63.10, and it is recommended for those age 12 and up.
The instructor for the session will teach the basic knots needed to complete the project, and the attendees will be able to use them to create other items as well once they head for home. They can choose the colour of cord they would like to work with, and light refreshments will be served. Beads will be provided to add an extra touch of flair, and the hangers can be taken home at the end of the workshop.
Many people enjoy learning a new craft technique, and a small class may provide an opportunity to do so. Copies of handouts for an activity can be prepared by Stationery printers.
This introduction to the art of macrame me is scheduled for August 13th, starting at 6:30 pm. No experience is needed, and the venue will be provided to the registrants after they sign up.
