What's Happening in Airdrie, AB…

Community organizes Halloweekend Airdrie

Airdrie is hard at work preparing for another Halloween season, and it has set the dates for a weekend of spooky fun for the whole family.

The city has prepared a schedule of activities for Halloweekend Airdrie, and it has invited members of the public to get involved by submitting any event ideas they might have. One activity that is already in the works is Trick or Treat Downtown, and this will be on offer free of charge.

The celebration will see stores, eateries and other establishments in Airdrie’s downtown district welcome kids in costume. They will be able to go from door to door, receiving candy, promotional products and other treats as they go. While they enjoy the experience, their parents will be able to learn more about what is on offer in their own hometown.

The function has been planned as a scavenger hunt-style activity. To help those who take part find each of the stops, the participating establishments will be displaying a “Trick or Treat Here” sign so they will be easy to spot. Any businesses or community groups that would like to get involved are asked to submit an application.

Trick or Treat Downtown will run from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm in Airdrie’s downtown on October 26th. The city’s website provides further information.
