What's Happening in Airdrie, AB…

Class to help Airdrie parents support anxious children

Anxiety is an issue that can impact people of any age, and a workshop will give Airdrie parents tools they can use with their anxious child.

Parents and caregivers of kids who are between the ages of 7 and 14 may find that the “Parenting Children With Anxiety” workshops have a lot to offer them. The learning will be spread out over two sessions, and along with providing tips and information, it will give the attendees an opportunity to connect with other families that are experiencing a similar situation.

During the classes, the attendees will be given coping strategies they can use with their own child. They will find out how they can aid their son or daughter in achieving success, and while there is no fee to take part, donations to help meet the expenses of offering the program will be most appreciated.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, many activities like this have been moved to an online format. Even though they may take place virtually, participants may still benefit from receiving hard copies of the learning materials, and these can be prepped by area print shops.

The Parenting Children With Anxiety series will be offered on June 1st and June 8th. The final date to register is May 25th, and questions about the event may be directed to the organizers.
