Airdrie to experience early days of farming
The community of Airdrie and the rest of the province has a history that is strongly tied to the agricultural sector, and an event in September will offer a glimpse back in time to its early days.
The Art of the Harvest will give one and all a step back to the day when the harvest was completed using horse-drawn implements and other equipment. It will be a live, in-person event, and it has been designed to appeal to both city dwellers and those with more rural roots.
The Airdrie Agricultural Society will be the host for this celebration, and the demonstration will show how grain planted in the spring would have been harvested. This annual activity tends to be a crowd pleaser, and the attendees will be able to see early forms of mechanized threshers and other farming machinery in operation. They can ask questions, and the whole family is welcome.
Learning about the history of their community is an activity many people enjoy. Print shops will be able to lend a hand with an event by supplying printed informative materials for such an event.
The Art of the Harvest will be stepping back in time on September 17th. The Airdrie Agricultural Society Site, located at 265232 Range Road 14, will be the venue for the day.
