Airdrie sets date for Empty Bowls fundraiser
Empty Bowls believes no one should go hungry, and an event that takes inspiration from the movement will support an Airdrie community feeding initiative.
Airdrie Food Bank will be the beneficiary of the 2024 Empty Bowls Art Festival, which will feature the fundraising for meals plus a whole lot more. All of the monies raised will be donated to the cause, and several area artists will be donating their creative works.
The festivities will see members of the public treat to soup prepared by area chefs, and they will be donating their efforts. Live music and other entertainment is on the agenda, and everyone can purchase a handcrafted bowl to keep. A balloon artist and face painter will be on hand for the kids, and cake will be served. Several sponsors have decided to support the activity, and any community members that would like to contribute some soups are encouraged to do so, but they must be made in a kitchen that is AHS inspected and approved.
