What's Happening in Airdrie, AB…

Airdrie prairie conference to welcome local stakeholders

The area around Airdrie was once home to a thriving ecosystem of native flora and fauna, and a virtual learning opportunity will present area stakeholders with a wealth of information that they can use to help protect this local resource.

The eighth annual Native Prairie Restoration/Reclamation symposium will introduce the public to a variety of topics related to land management, and as it will take place online, attendees are welcome to take part from wherever they might be. Its five-day schedule is filled with a variety of learning opportunities, and there will be at least 25 different webinars on offer.

The topics on the agenda for the conference include the impact of climate change and other human activities on native grasslands, as well as invasive species control, urban landscaping, soil management, indigenous engagement and many others. The registration fee is $150, and a special rate is on offer for students.

This type of function often provides a valuable opportunity for companies to have their name and logo design seen by a large number of potential customers. The organizers have put together a sponsorship package that outlines the benefits of supporting the event, and further details about this are available on the organizer's website.

The Native Prairie Restoration/Reclamation Workshop 2021 is scheduled to kick off on February 1st. The registration system for the activity is now open.
