Airdrie plans Canada Day parade
Each summer, communities all across the country host Canada Day events, and Airdrie will be one of the cities celebrating the occasion.
The community will once again hold a parade in honour of the nation’s birthday, and the organizers have explained that some changes have been made from previous years. Roads may be closed to accommodate the procession, and both businesses and not-for-profit groups are welcome to get involved.
There is enough space in the parade to accommodate up to 85 entries, and when they apply to take part, each individual or group will need to provide a description of their float or other entry. These will be reviewed by its organizing committee, and those who are considering getting involved are reminded that the function is family friendly. It has been requested that, for the safety of the spectators, candy and promotional products not be handed out.
