Airdrie event to focus on volunteering

Volunteering provides a way to give back to a community, and a local event in Airdrie will help connect members of the public with groups that could use some helping hands.

The Town & County Centre is set to welcome the Volunteer/Non-Profit Fair, which has been organized by the Volunteer Airdrie Society. Anyone interested can drop by and meet the various representatives that will be on site.

The attendees will be able to learn about various local not-for-profit organizations, ranging from animal and wildlife rescues to community service agencies. Options for kids and youth interested in volunteering will be included, and everyone is encouraged to bring along a “resume” to share that indicates their training, skillset and other information that may be helpful to the groups taking part. The event will be open to the public for five hours.

Volunteer fairs and other events that give a community the chance to find out how they can get involved in an initiative can attract a lot of attention. The organizations that take part can order informational materials to hand out from area brochure printing companies.

The Volunteer/Non-Profit Fair will be on offer on Saturday, September 13th at the Town & County Centre. It will be open from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Tickets can be reserved on Eventbrite but are not required.
