One Wangara business manufactures a locally patented, user-friendly product for diverting greywater. The Greyflow system is the work of hydraulics engineer Sam Milani, who says the idea came during the Australia-wide drought in 2003. In 2009 he added a self-cleaning function to his design, which removes the need to clean greywater filters. Mr. Milani believes the suburb’s diverse range of industries makes it a good place to come up with new ideas, saying,
