Chance for business owners to help their community

Business leaders in Wangara can find out how they can help their community at next month's local business breakfast.

The Wanneroo Business Association is hosting a talk by Andrew Hogan, chief executive officer of St Bartholomew's House, which works with local homeless people.

The organisation offers support to people who are currently homeless and also works to try to lower the number of people on Perth's streets in order to reduce homelessness in the future. At the breakfast, Hogan will talk about what local business leaders can do to help the situation.

He will discuss some of the reasons people become homeless, the impact it has on society and what can be done locally to reduce the number of people sleeping rough. As leaders in their communities, business owners are encouraged to advocate for people in their area and to try to support homeless and vulnerable people.

The breakfast will also be a chance to talk to other entrepreneurs, not only about the specific issue of homelessness, but also more generally about how things are going in local business. It will be worth putting together an order for business card printing before the event to enable the easy swapping of details for future collaborations.

The event, which includes a hot breakfast, takes place on Wednesday, April 17 and guests can arrive from 7:00 am for a 7.30 am start. It will be held at Leap Frogs Cafe in Drovers Place, Wanneroo. For more information, or to book a place, visit the Wanneroo Business Association website.
