Residents of West Melbourne, Victoria will be on the doorstep of cuisine from around the world when the International Street Food Festival returns in a couple of weeks.
Organisers are urging people to take the opportunity to indulge in the culinary diversity and gluttony of the event, which will transform River Terrace at Melbourne’s Federation Square into an international food hub for three days.
As in previous years, the Yarra River setting is expected to be inundated with crowds of food lovers attending the event, which features multicultural street performers, local artists and in excess of 40 vendors offering a cultural mix of food experiences that are sure to tempt the taste buds.
Promotional Brochures and media coverage of past street food festivals have displayed photographs of thousands of food lovers lining the city streets for a taste of the offerings, and organisers say there is always something new at each festival.
The aim of the festival, according to the organisers, is to present the finest street food from locations around the world and mix it with roving entertainment and artistic performances, including the latest upcoming musical talent.
They add that River Terrace, with its spectacular water views, was an ideal location to host the culinary event, which is expected to be bigger and better in 2016.
The International Street Food Festival is free to attend and will be held from January 15 to 17.
