Luxury hotel and residences underway for Northbank

West Melbourne residents are on the doorstep of major new city developments, including the $550-million Seafarers apartment and mixed-use hotel project, which began construction early last month.

Located between Docklands and Melbourne CBD, Riverlee's Seafarers represents a rare combination of 120 homes at the top and a further 277 hotel rooms below.

According to David Lee, Development Director for Riverlee, the project evolved over a period of a decade and, as it progresses, it will successfully merge with the established urban fabric and steer the Northbank precinct in a new and exciting direction.

This has been illustrated by the strong enquiry the development has received even before the first sod was turned, with $30 million in reservations and sales secured in the past few months. Limited residences, both two and three bedroomed, remain.

Future visitors to the precinct will also benefit from Seafarers Rest, a new public park spanning 3,500sqm to be established on the site of Goods Shed No.5, which is heritage listed. The new open space will be ideal for visitors, residents and users of the Seafarer.

Brochure printing campaigns have often helped to spread the word about major new developments such as this within high-tourist-traffic areas.

The luxury and well-appointed Seafarer's project, which the Melbourne Lord Mayor believes will effectively renew and revitalise the Northbank precinct, is expected to be completed by mid-2024.
