Wyndham City to host winter street party

Residents of Werribee and neighbouring suburbs will soon be able to embrace the colder winter months during the annual Winter Street Party hosted by Wyndham City Council.

With quarantine restrictions being eased, locals are hopeful this event may be a welcome way for the community to celebrate. The colourful event is a celebration marking the beginning of the Victorian winter school holidays and is popular amongst the locals. As daylight recedes, so the city is transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours and lighting effects. These creative light installations and projections are but a few of the many attractions planned to delight both young and old.

The Winter Street Party covers five major precincts from the Wyndham Cultural Centre, Wedge Street Piazza, Comben Drive, Watton Street and Station Place and will feature ice sculpting, roving circus performers, fire shows, glow-in-the-dark face painting and numerous other activities and crafts for kids to participate in.

Local businesses stay open late during this annual event, creating a bustling marketplace that offers residents a variety of warm winter fare and numerous offers on products. This year’s street party provides locals an opportunity to support businesses who may have been impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak. Businesses may utilise flyer printing to advertise specials and new products in store.

The Winter Street Party will take place on Friday 26th June from 5pm-9pm in the Werribee City Centre. Further information can be found on the Wyndham City website.
