Running event scheduled for Werribee

A running event will soon be held inside the grounds of a historic building in Werribee that dates to the 19th century.

Residents who like to run and walk in Werribee can take part in this upcoming event, which is dedicated to different foot races. Dubbed the Werribee Mansion Run, the sports event gives entrants access to exercise and compete at a celebrated heritage estate in the suburb.

The inclusive occasion is designed for different ages and all levels of fitness and physical ability. Multiple races are taking place on the day at the autumn event including a half marathon, a “Kid’s Dash” (1.2 kilometres) and a 10 kilometre and 5.5 kilometre run, with the last option open to walkers as well.

Everyone who participates and completes their course of choice will get a finishers medal. Organisers of races and other running events sometimes call upon professional Print shops to produce medals, trophies and other awards emblazoned with official emblems.

To promote effective hydration, runners and walkers competing will find that water stations are set up every two and a half kilometres along the course. Races have various start times between 8.30 am and 9.30 am, and there will be an award ceremony at 10.30 am.

The Werribee Mansion Run is taking place on Sunday, April 12 at Werribee Park Mansion. Featuring an Italianate-style, the heritage building is based in the Werribee Park precinct at Gate 2, K Road in Werribee South.
