Werribee to welcome author talk

An event that combines a writer’s workshop with a talk from a published author will run at a library in Werribee this year.

Would-be writers in the area can find inspiration and practical tips at an event arriving in the suburb this winter called “The Gift of Story”. Acclaimed author, Spiri Tsintziras, will be giving a talk on her moving memoir that explores family and dementia while providing valuable advice and exercises to help attendees write their own story.

Publishers and the authors they work with often rely heavily on professional printing services for physical Copies of both fiction and non-fiction titles, like memoirs.

In Tsintziras’s heartfelt memoir titled “Twelve Golden Gifts”, she shares her mother’s gifts that helped her deal with the challenges and issues of living with dementia and managing grief. The workshop will offer attendees practical guidance on using writing to assist with processing strong and sometimes difficult emotions.

An award-winning author, Tsintziras is also a voracious reader who believes that everyday stories have the power to make a big difference.

The Gift of Story event is organised by Wyndham City Libraries and will take place at Hoppers Crossing (Plaza) Library on Thursday, August 27. The evening event begins at 6.30 pm and ends at 8.30 pm and the library is located on Derrimut Road in Werribee.

Copies of Twelve Golden Gifts are available to borrow from the library.
