Two boys from the Werribee Softball Association have been chosen to represent Australia at an International Softball competition to be held in Queensland later this year.
The boys, Noah Cooney and Jye Robinson have been selected for the Australian under 15’s softball squad, playing in the Softball Australia International Friendship Series.
Both boys have been playing softball since they were six or seven, following in the footsteps of their mothers, both of whom played the sport.
While excited to have been selected, the boys are surprised at having been chosen to represent at a national level. Noah describes himself as being “speechless” with Jye saying he wasn’t expecting it. The boys also play football and Jye is hoping to continue on to a career in football, while Noah is keen to explore a softball career.
Jye has been helped in the past to play at state championships, through the sponsorship of a local business in nearby East Keilor, LMF Constructions, owned by Jye’s aunt and uncle.
Both the boys and their families are hoping for local businesses to sponsor them. Promotional Products can be a useful way for businesses to advertise sponsorship as well as raise money, with the boys needing funding for additional equipment, as well as helping with travel and accommodation costs.
The Softball Australia International Friendship Series will be played from July 5th to 12th.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
