Werribee celebrates Diwali

A special event in Werribee will take place later this year by the river to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival.

Those in Werribee seeking a rich cultural experience in the springtime won’t want to miss an upcoming event. November will see the Melbourne suburb welcome the “Riverwalk Diwali Function 2024”. Dedicated to the Hindu “Festival of Lights” the planned celebrations promise a host of sights, sounds, activities and entertainment.

Organisers of events honouring festive occasions from other cultures often call upon experienced banner printing services that can design and produce signage featuring national colours like the saffron, white, green and navy blue of India’s flag.

Beginning in the afternoon and continuing into the evening the vibrant event will happen by the River Werribee. Revellers attending can enjoy features like authentic savoury and sweet Indian food and drink, traditional music, light shows and live cultural music and dance performance. A special fireworks display is also planned to take place in the evening.

In India, celebrations for Diwali typically run for between five and six days between the middle of September and the middle of November. However, the Riverwalk Diwali Function 2024 will take place at Riverwalk Village Park on Sunday, November 3. The event will start at 3 pm and end at 7.30 pm and the park is sited at Newmarket Road in Werribee.

The festivities are free for all to attend.
