Small business owners in Werribee, Victoria will have an opportunity to take part in training sessions targeting key topics, ranging from getting started to strategies in boosting sales.
The Wyndham City Council initiative has proven popular on the Calendars of local small business operators in previous years and, according to Economic Development Portfolio chairman Cr. Intaj Khan, places are expected to fill fast for the 2016 programme as well.
He said sessions on the training schedule also involved local businesspeople who volunteered their services to help run them.
Cr. Khan said there were a number of great reasons to attend the classes, including the chance for small business owners in particular to extend their knowledge base, which could ultimately assist in broadening the entity’s impact in the marketplace.
He sees the process of using local experts to conduct the sessions, which will incorporate everything from business card printing and marketing services to legal essentials for small business, as a win/win situation for all involved.
Training by local experts, he added, provides small business owners with free access to important information that could help them build their expertise and business, while at the same time promoting the trainer’s organisation.
Khan said he encouraged business owners to take advantage of the free training workshops, which begin on February 9 with ‘Starting a Business’.
